First Presbyterian is blessed by a pastor and staff members, along with the Session, who use their time, energies, passions, and resources to expand membership and further the Kingdom of God, here and now.

Together, they are  all committed to serving God by sharing their talents and supporting the members of our church in a wide range of mission and ministry.

Kids Against Hunger

15.3 million children under 18 in the U.S. live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life. Our mission this month is Kids Against Hunger. This is a non-profit organization whose approach to achieving its goal, eradicating world hunger, includes packing a highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice casserole by volunteers. The meals are distributed locally as well as worldwide. The manual food packaging process not only feeds many children and families, it also brings satisfaction and deep engagement to the volunteers who package it. For most volunteers, it is the ultimate hands-on contribution that people of all ages can perform. We invite everyone to join us at our next Kids Against Hunger packing party in the fall.
