Dr. Karl Kling will lead a “Christian Caregiving” lunch-time group at First Presbyterian Church on Mondays, noon to 1:00 PM, from February 12 thru March 19, 2018. In a relaxed and informal setting, the group will study, discuss, and pray together about God’s call to serve others as Christian caregivers.
The goal of the group will be to learn more about the resources of faith, church, caring relationships, and community networks in order to share Christ’s healing and wholeness. Each week Dr. Kling will draw upon his experience and training in pastoral care to teach about a different area of Christian caregiving. Group discussion and prayer will provide encouragement for everyone who is caring for others in the name of Christ.
One of the books Dr. Kling will be referring to during group meetings is “Christian Caregiving: a Way of Life,” by Kenneth C. Haugk (Augsburg, 1984). It’s a very helpful resource that can be purchased through Amazon.com, although it is not required in order to attend the group.
